YOUR TASK

Introductory Research into Psychological perspectives

Some of the key psychological perspectives we will study at the beginning of the course are Behaviourism – including the contribution made by Pavlov (Classical conditioning and his dog experiments) and Skinner (Operant conditioning and his rat experiments) Social Learning theory – including the contribution made by Bandura (Bobo doll experiments)

For this task, use the internet to research the theories – for each theory produce a summary of

  • The key ideas of the psychological theory, particularly the named writers

  • Some of the research carried out by the writers

  • Examples of the behaviours the theories may help explain

  • The contribution they made to the development of psychology

The total piece of work should be in the region of 4 – 5 pages of A4 – use a variety of sites for your research- simple internet paste and copy will not be acceptable-  the work needs to be summarised in your own words –use pictures and diagrams to illustrate your out
